Kelledy Jones Lawyers were the proud Platinum Sponsors of the 80th EPLGA conference hosted by the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula.
The conference theme was “Oh the Places You’ll Go”, borrowed from the Dr Suess book of the same name, and focussed on the progression of the local government sector to date and the leadership and lasting impression that actions taken today will have upon EP communities well into the future.
The keynote speaker was Amanda Blair who spoke in very entertaining terms about some of the challenges that our State faces and how councils can play a large role in improving our communities. The conference was structured into sessions dealing with some of the upcoming challenges facing EP councils, including communication and community engagement skills, and a well-received talk from our own Victoria Shute on the importance of “Why” as the starting point in engaging communities and effective leadership.
We congratulate the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula on a fabulous conference event and we look forward to attending the 81st EPLGA conference in Port Lincoln in 2018.
