81st Eyre Peninsula Local Government Association Conference, 25-27 February 2018
LG Leader March 2018
The City of Port Lincoln hosted the 81st EPLGA Conference from 25-27 February 2018 and Kelledy Jones Lawyers were honoured to be the platinum sponsors of this event.
This year’s theme – “Excel, Innovate and Thrive” – was a timely one given the opportunities and challenges facing the Eyre Peninsula, especially in a year which will deliver State and local government elections, as well as – possibly – a Federal election.
The conference program was full of interesting speakers. The keynote speaker was Dr Tom Hadju, Chief Innovator of South Australia who spoke about technological, economic and other opportunities for the EP. Our own Michael Kelledy was a highlight, speaking to the attendees about the upcoming local government elections and how those participating in them can ‘survive and thrive’.
We were also excited to witness a special moment at the conference dinner where Mayor Bruce Green of the City of Port Lincoln proposed to his partner, Mayor Julie Low of the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula. We wish Mayor Green and Mayor Low all the very best in this new stage of their lives together.
Congratulations to the City of Port Lincoln on a wonderful conference and we are looking forward to the 82nd EPLGA Conference hosted by the District Council of Kimba in 2019.
